I grew up in Nottinghamshire reading those little comic strips in the newspapers, think this is where it all started. I started to love reading more comics instead of books as I didn’t seem to lose interest as quickly, and I actually would finish the comic book. There isn’t much said for the many half-read stories on my bookshelf. Yes, I defiantly read a book by its cover but in the literal sense, think this probably why I have so many half-read ones at home. I found a love for comics and decided this was something I wanted to do, even though at the time I was studying for my A-Levels and art was not one of them. At the time I didn’t realise this was something I could do as a job not just for a hobby. So, I studied a year of art and design at college to finally go on to study BA Comic, Graphic Novels and sequential Art at Teesside university to where I am close to finishing my final year.
Even though I love comics I also have a love for kickboxing and going out to the local pub for a few. One of my favourite comics is Mooncop by Tom Gauld which I think I have read at least 10 times. I have currently been working on a comic for the Guardian Observer competition and have been creating my first webcomic.
